EGO 225mm POD Wood Handboard – Cedar and Walnut Bodysurfing Handplane

The EGO 225mm is a solid cedar and walnut POD® bodysurfing handboard, shaped for agile precision and a deeply connected feel through the wave. At 225mm x 200mm, the compact planing surface moves with the body rather than against it, making it well suited to tight sections, barrel riding, and rapid directional changes.

Each EGO handplane is an individual piece. Natural variations in grain and colour mean no two boards are identical.

The EGO suits smaller hands, youth, and experienced bodysurfers who favour technical movement and refined control. Its compact scale makes it nimble through critical sections where a larger handboard would resist rather than respond.

Cedar and Walnut – POD Wood Construction

A solid walnut centre acts as a structural stringer, delivering strength and stability, while lighter cedar wings contribute responsiveness and controlled flex. Each handboard is produced through CAD design, precision CNC machining, laser engraving, and careful hand finishing.

Palm Support, Strap System, and Bottom Shape

• Ergonomic palm support: A convex deck with integrated palm hold supports the natural curvature of the hand, reducing fatigue. The hand sits directly above the pivot point and keel fin.
• Purpose-built strap system: Custom 50 mm hand strap retainers secure a wide 65 mm double-padded neoprene strap, distributing load evenly across the hand.
• Hydrodynamic bottom shape: A deep 16 mm concave with an integrated keel fin works with water flow to support lift, directional control, and cleaner movement across the wave.
